Black Heart Bakery & Café in Culdaff is a much-loved artisan bakery and café located in the heart of Culdaff village, Inishowen, Co. Donegal. Created by baking-obsessed Culdaff local Jenny Doherty, this cosy café is known for its homemade baking, seasonal dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere just minutes from Culdaff Beach.

Expect a delicious mix of freshly baked treats and savoury favourites, including vegan falafel rolls, traditional sausage rolls, brownies, cakes, sandwiches, jams, chutneys, seasonal soups and classic Guinness bread. Gluten free and vegan options are always available, making it a popular stop for a wide range of dietary needs.

Alongside traditional recipes like Granny Doherty’s famous homemade apple pie, Black Heart Bakery also offers creative takes on café classics such as the Croque Madame and the Paris Special. Jenny enjoys changing flavours with the seasons, ensuring the menu is always fresh, creative and a little bit different.

The café itself is a small, light-filled space with a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a good coffee or leaf tea with great music in the background. It’s the perfect stop-off for visitors heading to or from Culdaff Beach, offering homemade food made with care and personality.
