The Cruckahenny Trail is a scenic upland walking route on the eastern side of the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal. This moderate linear trail takes walkers through the beautiful Cruckahenny Hills, offering open countryside, historic landmarks, and spectacular coastal views.
Starting from either Quigley’s Point Village or Twin Bridges in the Illies near Fullerton Dam, the route gradually climbs through rugged landscapes to higher ground. At its highest point, walkers are rewarded with striking panoramic views over Lough Foyle, across to Binevenagh, and along the dramatic Antrim Coast on clear days.
The Cruckahenny Trail is rich in both scenery and heritage, passing local points of interest including Fullerton Dam, ruined wallsteads, and the windfarm that now forms part of the modern landscape.
