The Lakes Loop Meenavogey Trail is a short but rewarding loop walk on the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal. This scenic optional route branches off from the Old Carn Road Drovers Trail, offering walkers the chance to explore some of Inishowen’s quiet upland landscapes while enjoying views of two beautiful mountain lakes.
Waymarked with pink directional arrows, the trail leads walkers closer to Lough Naminn, a picturesque lake with two small islands, and Lough Fad (Long Lake), located further north. Lough Fad is home to a historic crannóg — an ancient man-made island settlement that offers a fascinating glimpse into Ireland’s early history.
