The Meenavogey Trail is a peaceful upland walking route in the heart of the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal. Also known as The Marshy Mountain Meadow Trail, this scenic linear walk offers visitors a gentle escape into open countryside with sweeping views of some of Inishowen’s most iconic landscapes.
Located along the Mountain Road (R244) between Buncrana and Carndonagh, the trail follows a quiet tarmac route through upper boglands and wild mountain scenery. Although classed as a moderate walk, the trail is relatively flat, making it accessible to most walkers while still offering a rewarding sense of remoteness.
Along the route, walkers can enjoy spectacular views of Sliabh Sneacht, the highest peak in Inishowen, as well as the rugged hills of Urris, creating a beautiful backdrop throughout the walk.
