Culture Night Buncrana returns on Friday, 18 September 2026!

Buncrana’s Main Street and beyond will come alive with music, storytelling, art, creativity and community spirit as Culture Night Buncrana 2026 takes over the town from 6pm.

This year’s programme brings together live music, traditional Irish music, theatre, poetry, workshops, exhibitions, family activities and plenty of opportunities to discover the creative talent of Buncrana and Inishowen.

🎨 Face Painting at DK Beauty | 6pm–8pm
Anna’s Cheeky Faces returns to DK Beauty for an evening of creative face painting.

🍭 Face Painting at Tiny’s Sweet Shop | 6pm–8pm
Little ones can enjoy face painting with Anna’s Cheeky Faces while exploring the Culture Night trail.

🎐 Chiming with Nature | Buncrana Angling Centre | 6pm–8pm
Get creative with Artlink and make your own wind chime using found and recycled materials. A free, hands-on activity for all ages.

📖 Blackout Poetry Workshop | Main Street Kitchen | 6pm
Create your own unique poem using book pages, words and your imagination. No experience needed; suitable for adults and teens.

🎶 Music, Dance & a Sing-Song | Buncrana’s Children’s Charity | 6pm
Join in an evening of local talent, Irish dancing, live music and a good old sing-song.

🎶 An Evening of Music & Art | Vincent’s | 6pm
Featuring music from Bernie Doherty, Sophia Brock and Philip McMonagle, artwork by Liam Rodden and photography by Dallan Doherty.

🎸 Music with Lydia Jackson | Mac’s Bookshop | 6:15pm
Enjoy live music from Inishowen-based musician Lydia Jackson, with acoustic takes on indie, pop and rock classics.

🌸 Jade Rose Studio | The Plaza Café | 6:15pm
Create your own flower crown or beautiful flower wand using fresh seasonal flowers.

🎭 Shakespeare’s Shipwreck | The Plaza | 6:30pm
An interactive, have-a-go theatre experience exploring some of Shakespeare’s much-loved stories on the shores of Lough Swilly.

🎶 Songbird Sessions | Yelo Ribon | 7pm
Maria Fitzpatrick and Bernie Doherty bring an eclectic mix of music, from timeless classics to contemporary hits.

🎶 Inishowen Traditional Music Project & Singers’ Circle | Christ Church | 7pm
A special concert celebrating the musical heritage of the Inishowen Peninsula, featuring traditional tunes and songs.

🎤 Delta Minor | Buncrana Community Library | 7pm
Local recorder and performer Delta Minor brings the volume up for an evening of music in the library.

🎶 Music with Lydia Jackson | Glamour by Breige | 7:30pm
Lydia Jackson returns for an evening of acoustic music, featuring indie, pop and rock classics.

🎵 Beats from the Balcony | Buncrana Cinema | 8pm
Jason Cameron provides the soundtrack from the balcony of Buncrana Cinema, with a DJ set overlooking the evening’s celebrations.

📖 Writing With Writers + Vela Satellites | Christ Church Hall | 8pm
Listen to local creative writers reading from their work, followed by live music from Vela Satellites, the latest musical project from Claire McDaid and Denis Kelly.

Getting Home

🚌 One2One Late-Night Bus

A special late-night bus service will operate for Culture Night, helping visitors get home safely after the evening’s events.

The bus will leave Buncrana at 1am, travelling through Clonmany, Ballyliffin, Carndonagh, Drumaville, Culdaff, Gleneely, Moville and Greencastle.
