McMyler Events Launches Crana Country Sessions
BUNCRANA is set to come alive with the sound of country music, dancing and community spirit this September, as McMyler Events launches the inaugural Crana Country Sessions due to take place on Friday, 18th September 2026 8:30pm at The Plaza, Buncrana, funded by the Buncrana Night-Time Economy Initiative through Donegal County Council.
The event marks a major milestone for Adrian McMyler, Director of McMyler Events, as it is the first event he has organised since returning home from Australia and relaunching his events, tourism and promotions business.
The first Crana Country Sessions will feature live performances from Jack Larry and Jason McCahill, two of Donegal’s leading country music artists who perform at venues and festivals across Ireland. Both have built loyal audiences and thousands of followers, making them two of the county’s most recognisable names on the Irish country music scene.
The evening will also feature a Jiving Competition, with 2025 All-Ireland Jiving Champion Niamh Doyle attending as special guest and judge. Organisers say there may even be a chance for the audience to see the All-Ireland champion take to the dance floor.
Culture Night is Ireland’s annual celebration of arts, heritage and culture, with thousands of people attending events across the country. Organisers believe there is no better way to celebrate Irish culture than through country music, jiving and line dancing, which continue to attract huge audiences across Ireland. Crana Country Sessions will form part of Buncrana’s Culture night celebrations with a Culture Trail in venues throughout the town, from 6pm til late.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Adrian McMyler said:
“I’m incredibly proud to launch Crana Country Sessions on Culture Night. Country music, jiving and line dancing are a massive part of Irish culture and community life, particularly here in Donegal, and I wanted my first event after relaunching McMyler Events to celebrate that.”
“This is only the beginning. We have ambitious plans to grow Crana Country Sessions throughout 2027 and beyond, bringing regular country music events to Buncrana and across Inishowen. My vision is to build Buncrana into a destination for country music lovers while supporting local artists, local businesses and tourism.”
“Jack Larry and Jason McCahill are fantastic ambassadors for Donegal country music. They perform all over Ireland and have built huge followings. We also have an incredible dancing community here in Inishowen, and I want to showcase that to country music fans from across the nation.”
As part of the Buncrana Night-Time Economy Initiative, a late-night bus service will operate after the event, ensuring visitors from across Inishowen can enjoy the night and travel home safely.
The service departs Buncrana at 1.00am, travelling through Clonmany, Ballyliffin, Carndonagh, Drumaville, Culdaff, Gleneely, Moville and Greencastle, helping support Culture Night while encouraging more people to experience Buncrana’s growing night-time economy.

The late-night bus service will also be available on Culture Night, to allow people from across Inishowen to enjoy the evening knowing they have a safe and reliable way to get home afterwards. Supporting events like this helps strengthen Buncrana’s evening economy, showcases local talent and creates memorable experiences for both local people and visitors.”
The event will take place in The Plaza, Buncrana, with manager Ursula McDaid looking forward to welcoming country music fans.

Doors open at 8.30pm, with dancing from 9.00pm. Admission is €12.
