Fáilte Ireland, Inishowen Development Partnership and Go Visit Inishowen invite organisations and community groups to take part in an important new survey

New survey launched as part of the Inishowen Destination Experience Development Plan to strengthen collaboration across tourism, heritage and environmental initiatives

Community groups, voluntary organisations, tourism businesses, cultural and heritage bodies, environmental organisations and local stakeholders across the Inishowen Peninsula are being invited to contribute to an important new survey that will help inform the future sustainable development of the region.

The survey is being undertaken as part of the implementation of the Inishowen Destination Experience Development Plan (DEDP), which provides a shared roadmap for the future development of tourism across the peninsula. Emerging directly from the priorities identified within the DEDP, the initiative is being delivered through a collaborative partnership involving Fáilte Ireland, Inishowen Development Partnership (IDP) and Go Visit Inishowen (GVI), all working together to ensure tourism growth continues to support local communities, heritage and environmental sustainability.

The survey forms part of the development of the new Inishowen Eco-Cultural Partnership, a key action arising from the DEDP. The partnership seeks to bring together organisations and stakeholders who are already making valuable contributions across tourism, community development, cultural heritage and ecological conservation throughout Inishowen.

By taking part, organisations will help create a clearer picture of the projects, programmes and activities currently taking place across the peninsula, as well as identifying future opportunities for collaboration, innovation and shared delivery.

The information gathered will help to:

• Map existing and planned activity across Inishowen.
• Identify opportunities for stronger partnership working.
• Highlight gaps, challenges and emerging needs.
• Support more coordinated planning and investment.
• Ensure future initiatives build on existing local strengths and expertise.

The survey is open to organisations operating across a wide range of sectors, including community development, tourism, environment, heritage, arts and culture, education, social enterprise and the voluntary sector.

As Ireland’s largest peninsula, Inishowen is home to internationally recognised landscapes, vibrant communities, rich cultural traditions and significant natural heritage assets. The DEDP recognises the importance of protecting and enhancing these strengths while creating sustainable opportunities that benefit both residents and visitors.

The survey findings will contribute to the next stage of development of the Inishowen Eco-Cultural Partnership and help ensure that future projects reflect local knowledge, community priorities and the collective ambitions of organisations throughout the peninsula.

Organisations are encouraged to complete the survey, which takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.
