Go Visit Inishowen is delighted to announce the launch of a new festival, “Stories in Stones” – Inishowen Heritage Festival 2026.

This new event, kindly funded through Donegal County Council’s Regional Festival & Participative Events Funding, focuses on creating awareness of the unique heritage offering across Inishowen, encouraging both locals and visitors to explore the region and fostering a greater appreciation of the historic landscape.

The Heritage Festival will take place during National Heritage Week, running from Saturday 15th – Sunday 23rd August 2026, celebrating the natural, cultural and built heritage of the Inishowen Peninsula through a curated programme of guided walks led by local historians. The festival will encourage local engagement, cultural tourism and intergenerational participation, while promoting Donegal as a destination for high-quality heritage experiences.
