Fun for All
Coreen Robinson and the Friel family fundraised and opened the inclusive play park “Fun For All” in memory of her brother Gareth who sadly passed away in 2022. Gareth had a profound disabilities who as a child loved to play on his swing, in his memory the family fundraised and worked to install an ability swing with other inclusive play equipment at the Festival Playpark to honour their beloved brother.
The ability swing supports up to 250kg, see instructions on how to operate the wheelchair swing here It is accessible with a “Radar Key” which are currently available to purchase for €5 from the “Visit Inishowen” tourist office. Radar keys are a universal key system that offers those with a disability independent access to locked disabled toilets and other facilities around the country.
The “Fun for All” playpark extension also features a further 13 pieces of inclusive play equipment including a Connect 4, sensory rocker, spring surfboard and even a mini ticket office along with picnic benches and communication boards.
The Festival Playpark itself is an extensive park with a large array of play equipment and is located at the Shore Front, beside a beautiful sandy beach. There is ample parking, including disabled and a newly refurbished toilet block with a disabled toilet. A changing places facility including hoist is planned for Buncrana town within the next number of years.
Buncrana Beach Wheelchair
A short 5 minute walk from the Festival playpark, the Angling Centre located at The Castle Bridge beside entrance to Swan Park has a beach wheelchair available free of charge (booking is advisable) Refreshments are available for sale here.

The Swan Park Riverside Walk
Only ten minutes from the Festival playpark Swan Park is a glorious scenic park for all to experience, along the coastal path and is accessible to everyone. The walk is alongside the Crana river and is a favourite spot for family strolls and picnics.
