Beach Trail

Inishowen is the most northerly part of Ireland and home to some of the most beautiful, diverse and unspoilt beaches along the Wild Atlantic Way. From wide stretches of golden sand to hidden coves, the peninsula offers a real sense of space, freedom and discovery — with some beaches often feeling like your own private escape.

The beach trails featured here highlight some of the most accessible coastal spots across Inishowen, many with parking facilities, walking access, and nearby amenities such as play areas and historical points of interest. They form part of the famous Inishowen 100 Drive and the wider Wild Atlantic Way experience.

Several beaches, including Culdaff Beach and Stroove Beach, have achieved Blue Flag status, recognising their excellent water quality, safety standards and environmental management. Both are also designated Discovery Points on the Wild Atlantic Way, along with other scenic locations across the peninsula.

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy activities such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, or simply walking along the shoreline and taking in the views.
