Tim at Apple & Wave Press is a printmaker specialising in wood engravings. His studio/gallery, Ballagh Studio, is shared with his partner, Pastel artist Ros Harvey. Here Tim has a huge range of engravings, woodcuts and books on the themes of Irish myths, together with Fairy-stories, Hobbie horses, Rara Avis and other quirky subjects. This year he has started a range of miniature books, hand-bound in Irish leather with gold blocking titles. ABC, Symbols, Rabbits, Bugs, and Runes are a few titles of these small books. Sharon’s distinctive works capture perfectly the immediacy and diversity of the ever-changing light and shade of the Irish landscape. Suggestive mark-making and a unique ability to exploit the medium enable Sharon to produce these exciting works that leave something to the viewers’ imagination. Over the past 20 years, Sharon has exhibited her work widely at home and abroad and her works have become part of many public and private collections. She also exhibits from her gallery/studio in Carndonagh, North Inishowen. The gallery also offers a full bespoke framing service with a large range of mouldings to choose from. Peninsula Potter, Lorraine O’Carroll has been potting for over 20 years and is inspired by the coastal landscape for her pottery and Framed Raku Art. Lorraine’s work has been awarded to international heads of state and is in private/public collections here and abroad.

Glendowen Craft Shop is where you can purchase a piece of ‘real’ Donegal. Steeped in a tradition that has been handed down through generations, Ann Mc Gonigle sources only the finest Donegal Tweed and Yarn to design and create beautiful and original garments and accessories. We also stock a wide range of Irish produced crafts and gifts. The shop also provides local and tourist information and maps of the area. We have recently restored an antique hand weaving loom and are weaving some of our own Meentagh Glen Tweed.

 

Mary Crowley is a self-taught Irish Artist from Inishowen who captures the softness and colour of local landscapes using watercolour. All of Mary’s work is painted in beautiful Inishowen, either in her studio or out in the wilds in some lovely quiet place.
