This townland is steeped in history and boasts one of Inishowen’s most iconic sites, An Grianán of Aileach. The ringfort stands on a summit 800ft above sea level and Grianan Hill has been the sentinel of Inishowen for over 3000 years. Grianán of Aileach also inspired the architectural ‘masterpiece’ of St Aengus’ Catholic Church, which was designed in 1967 by Liam McCormack
