The site of the ancient Abbey of St. Mura lies in Fahan Village. This monastery flourished during the seventh century. The most interesting object from this period is the cross of St. Mura, thought to mark his grave of 654A.D.The stone slab bears an interlaced cross on each face, and on one side there are two figures flanking the foot of the cross and bearing an undecipherable inscription on their garments.
